Yes, I am a Bears fan.
That's out of the way.
Still, something needs to be said about Cedric Benson, the monumental draft bust.
In three years with Chicago, Here is Benson's stat line:
420 Attempts, 1593 Yards, 10 Touchdowns. 3.8 Yards/Attempt, 35 games.
Salary: $13,749,08. Or, $1.37 million per touchdown. Or $6.87 million per DUI. Or $ 6.87 million per season-ending injury. Or 15 cents for every Chicago fan who called him a douche bag over his 3 year stint with Da Bears.
So of course, after three years of Benson being a complete bust of the Bears, on Sunday he matches up against his former team and has a career day, 37 att, 189 yds, and a TD. Great. Juuuuuust great. Oh, and to add insult to injury, the Bengals destroyed the Bears 45-10.
All I really have to say is this: Beware Bengals, beware. We've seen Benson play hard before when he wanted big money (see his last season at Texas when he was an absolute BEAST), but once you sign him to that long-term deal, he's going to go down the crapper faster than the deuce I just dropped, flushed and dedicated to his memory.
But I'm not bitter.
PS: Who smiles for their DUI picture?
